Source: Mail Tribune, Medford, Ore.文件倉Jan. 01--A robber entered a Medford Radio Shack Monday night, threatened the lone clerk with a pistol and escaped with cash and the clerk's cellphone, police reported.Police were dispatched to the Radio Shack at 1345 Center Drive at 7:11 p.m. after a 911 call. According to store surveillance video, a white male, possibly in his 20s, wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans entered the store with a bandana covering his face. He walked briskly to the back and made erratic gestures with his gun while holding a bag in his other hand, demanding the clerk put cash in the bag.The clerk complied, and the suspect escaped before police arrived.Police said the armed robbery of a business other than a bank or gambling establishment is uncommon."That's most typically the target," said Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau. "(Radio Shack) is not an establishment you'd think would have large amounts of cash on hand."Budreau added that the robber's behavior was especially concerning to police."Robbers do robberies in their own unique way. Sometimes they displa存倉 a gun, sometimes they threaten (they have) a gun. Sometimes they're polite. Sometimes they pass a note," Budreau said. "This suspect was quite agitated. He was being very aggressive."The motive for taking the cellphone is not clear, Budreau said, adding it might have been aimed at delaying a 911 call from the clerk."But obviously the store has landlines, so I'm not sure what his motivation was," Budreau said.Budreau said police do not believe the robbery was linked to the holdup of an Umpqua Bank branch in Phoenix Monday afternoon. "I wouldn't say we've ruled it out, but it's unlikely," said Budreau, citing the different behavior and demeanor of the robbers.Through November of this year, 89 robberies had been reported in Medford, compared to 57 robberies last year, according to statistics compiled on the Medford police website.Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Medford police at 541-770-4783.Copyright: ___ (c)2014 the Mail Tribune (Medford, Ore.)
