Working hours will typically be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays during that span. Main streets involved in this year's program include:-- 24th Street, from Arizona Avenue to 4th Avenue-- 8th Street, 1st Avenue to Avenue A-- Arizona Avenue, 15th Street to 10th StreetSubdivisions include:-- ACPE-- Thomas Addition-- Santa Maria -- these areas are generally located from 14th Avenue to Avenue A, between 8th Street and 12th Street.-- Pecan Grove-- Hansberger-- Su Casa -- these areas are generally located from 3rd Street to 8th Street, between Magnolia and Avenue B.-- Hazelwood-- Valle Sereno-- Villa Cordova -- these areas are generally located from 12th Street to 16th Street, west of Avenue C.Residents will be notified at their homes prior to work on their streets. Slurry seal takes up to 8 hours to dry, so some streets will be closed during sealant application and residents may be asked to make temporary parking arrangements.Annual Fall Fog Seal ProgramThe city continues its annual Fall Fog Seal program the week of Oct. 28. Fog seal is a fresh oil spray that extends the life of the pavement. Application of the sealant requires at least half a street width to be closed at a time. Crews will notify neighborhood street residents via door hangers prior to work being conducted; these notices may include special parking instructions.Fog seal schedule for the week of Nov. 4-9-- Casa Manana-- Yuma North End-- Speese Heights-- Rio Vista Commerce CenterWeekend fog seal taking place 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9-- Main Street fmini storageom 1st Street to 3rd Street-- 1st Avenue, Court Street to Orange Avenue-- 26th Drive, 20th Street to north endAvenue D at County 9th StreetThe intersection of Avenue D and County 9th Street (the same roadway that is called 16th Street inside City limits) is officially now a 4-way stop. Motorists are advised to use extra caution at this intersection as it may be some time until fellow motorists become accustomed to the change.24th Street east of Avenue DYuma County is reconstructing a culvert underneath 24th Street east of Avenue D, a 3-week project resulting in the closure of 24th Street to through traffic between Avenue C and Avenue D. Local traffic only will be allowed between Avenue C and 46th Drive. Estimated completion is mid-November.8th Avenue, 24th to 32ndSome isolated lane restrictions continue through early next week on 8th Avenue between 24th Street and 32nd Street. Narrowing may occur on the northbound approach to 24th Street. In November, crews will return to apply permanent lane striping to the roadway.Special events, downtown Main StreetSaturday, Nov. 2, Main Street will be closed to through traffic from morning through late afternoon for Children's Festival of the Arts. Parking for downtown businesses is available in the lots between Maiden Lane and Gila Street, and the lots east of Madison.24th Street, 31st Avenue to 33rd Drive24th Street will have narrowed lanes and possible detours on the road shoulders between just east of 31st Avenue and just west of 33rd Drive for work related to construction of the Yuma Valley Area Park.
